Circular Selection Tools
This documentation is also available in video format!
Watch a complete demonstration of the Circular Selection tools,
including the new Circular Area With Move workflow.
Arttista offers multiple ways to select vector points, each designed for
different editing workflows. Besides the traditional rectangular selection,
the Circular Selection tools allow you to work naturally by simply moving
the cursor across your artwork.
Selection Modes
-
Rectangle Selection – Click and drag to create a rectangular selection
area. Every point inside the rectangle becomes selected.
-
Circular Selection – Hold the mouse button and move the cursor to
select points inside a circular area. This method is ideal for organic
editing and sculpting operations.
-
Circular Area With Move – Select and move points simultaneously.
As soon as you press the mouse button, every point inside the circular
selection area becomes selected and immediately follows the mouse cursor
until the button is released.
Why Use Circular Area With Move?
Instead of selecting points first and moving them afterward, this new
workflow combines both operations into a single gesture. It greatly reduces
mouse clicks and makes interactive editing significantly faster, especially
when adjusting complex vector artwork.
The Circular Area With Move tool is particularly useful when reshaping
organic drawings, facial features, character animations, or any artwork
requiring continuous point adjustments.
Customizing the Brush Size
The size of the circular selection area can be adjusted at any time using
the selection radius slider or by holding Alt while scrolling the
mouse wheel.

Tip:
The Circular Area With Move tool works especially well together with
Arttista's Grid Snap and Alignment Guides, allowing both fast and precise
editing depending on your workflow.
