Insert Frame & Remove Frame

Watch a complete demonstration of the timeline insertion and removal tools introduced in Arttista.

One of the most common tasks during animation production is adjusting timing. You may need to add extra space between poses, delay an action, or remove unnecessary frames after an animation is already finished.

The new Insert Frame and Remove Frame commands allow these changes to be performed instantly, automatically shifting the rest of the animation forward or backward without requiring manual adjustments.

Insert Frame

Insert Frame creates new space in the timeline starting from the current frame position.

This feature is ideal when you need to add anticipation, pauses, secondary motion, or additional keyframes without rebuilding the existing timeline structure.

Insert Multiple Frames

You can repeatedly press Shift + Right Arrow to create additional space frame by frame.

It is also possible to select a range on the timeline and use the same command. In this case, a gap equal to the selected range length is created, and all following animation is automatically moved forward.

Remove Frame

Remove Frame performs the opposite operation.

Remove Timeline Regions

Entire timeline sections can also be removed at once.

Simply select a range and press Shift + Left Arrow. The selected region disappears and the rest of the animation automatically closes the gap.

Workflow Advantage: Instead of manually moving keyframes and adjusting animation blocks, you can now restructure timing using simple shortcuts while preserving the overall animation sequence.

Keyboard Shortcuts

Insert Frame: Shift + Right Arrow
Remove Frame: Shift + Left Arrow
Select All Objects: Shift + Ctrl + A

These tools significantly speed up animation editing and make late-stage timing adjustments much less disruptive to your workflow.
