Spatula Tool

Watch a complete demonstration of the improved Spatula Tool and learn how to sculpt vector shapes interactively.

The Spatula Tool is designed for interactive vector sculpting. Instead of moving individual points one by one, you can reshape an entire area of a vector object using a circular sculpting brush.

In Arttista 2.7, the Spatula Tool has been improved to provide smoother, more predictable and natural editing, making it easier to refine complex shapes while preserving their overall appearance.

How It Works

The Spatula Tool affects every selected point inside its circular area. As you drag the mouse, nearby points are smoothly pushed and pulled, allowing you to sculpt the shape interactively.

For best results, use the Spatula Tool on objects containing a sufficient number of points. More points allow smoother and more detailed deformations.

Brush Size

The size of the sculpting brush can be adjusted at any time to match the level of detail you need.

Adjust Brush Size: Alt + Mouse Wheel

The brush radius can also be adjusted using the on-screen size slider.

Typical Applications

Workflow Tip: Instead of manually editing dozens of individual points, use the Spatula Tool to reshape large areas naturally with just a few mouse movements. This often produces smoother results while dramatically reducing editing time.

The improved Spatula Tool makes organic vector editing faster, more fluid, and considerably more intuitive, especially when working with complex illustrations.
